A Quiet Evening at Home

Shauna is reading Paul Johnson's "A History of the Jews." I am half way through Proust's seven volume "Remembrance of Things Past," which I first read in 1971 at Duke under the tutelage of Wallace Fowlie. We are drinking hot chocolate which Shauna made with real cream. Decadent! Outside, it is snowing again.

Flowers?

I am not really into flowers! This is the dress Amanda made out of moss, which I though was very daring, innovative and pretty!

Shauna Burgon Valentine at 7 a.m.

Every day her lucky husband thinks she looks like a million bucks as she drives to BYU - McKay College of Education - to work her magic. Up at 6:00 a.m., she exercises and talks about the day with me.

Lone Peak is a mountain north of Highland, Utah, 11,253 feet (3,430 m) elevation. Last Saturday, our son-in-law Jon James (Gina's husband; father of four of our grandchildren) and his ski pals took five hours to reach the top (with special pads on the bottom of their skis) and only one hour to ski down. Our home is somewhere down in the valley. Yes, he carries a lot of life insurance!
Notice all of the high tech safety equipment that Jon and his pals carry with them in case of an avalanche.
